New Applications Engineer Appointed

Shigeji Ao has joined the Northampton headquarters of Horiba Instruments as applications engineer for STEC products.

The role involves providing technical support and advice for the sales team at Horiba for its market-leading STEC flow controllers.

Mr Ao, who has worked for STEC in Japan since 1996, will be working closely with Stuart Knight, Europe sales manager, to develop existing markets in the semiconductor industry and to build on the company's new markets including the fibre optics industry.

Stuart Knight says: " We are delighted at Shigeji's appointment as it means Horiba can look to future markets with confidence whilst continuing to build on the company's experience in the semiconductor industry."

Mr Ao, who is 27 and studied physics at Konan University in Kobe, Japan, says: "Living in Britain has been a whole new experience for me and I look forward to fulfilling my role being part of STEC's expansion in the UK."
