HORIBA GROUP STRENGTHENS FORCE IN EUROPE
Horiba Group opens a new office in the Netherlands. The office located in Nijmegen, will support the sales of Horiba Group products to the semiconductor industry.
New business
development manager Mr Robert Merks will head the new office with
responsibility for the semiconductor market in Netherlands, Belgium
and Scandinavia. 
Mr Merks, a qualified mechanical engineer with 17 years' experience in micro- electronics, 9 of which with a major Dutch semiconductor manufacturer, will promote products from across the Horiba Group, including STEC mfcs.
"Horiba have an excellent product range for semiconductor applications and are very strong in gas and chemical products. I am looking forward to introducing them to potential customers."
Horiba Group products are used to monitor critical process parameters, which improve the finished product quality and reliability. Horiba analysers improve the semiconductor process, save time, money and the environment by monitoring and thereby extending the lifetime of consumable materials. Jobin Yvon's product range provides thin film process control and inspection. STEC is the global market leader in mass flow controllers and specialises in gas and liquid flow control and vaporisation.
Sales manager Stuart Knight said: "We are serious about our growth in Europe. We want to be close to our customers and Nijmegen is a key area for semiconductor manufacturing in Europe. With Robert's experience I am sure we can fully support our existing customers' needs and expand our business in the area."
Horiba continue to grow their semiconductor industry support capabilities throughout Europe, the latest office in Nijmegen joins established offices in Northampton UK, Dresden and Frankfurt in Germany and Grenoble in France. Worldwide the group employs 3,600 people and has a turnover of more than 650 million US$, with 235 million US$ coming from Europe.
